This is 憧憧 (동동) in Chinese, featured in a special invitational exhibition at ISEA 2025. The color scheme reflects Chinese cultural identity, with vibrant and saturated red symbolizing happiness and well-being. This artwork conveys a visual message about the excitement of overcoming global challenges together, embodying the philosophy of 憧憧 (동동). It interacts with the audience through the sound of a traditional Asian drum, which has historically been used in group performances to promote communal unity, belonging, and healing. The Chinese community often addresses anxiety (or fear, referred to as invisible monsters) by collectively creating powerful sounds. It aims to engage a global audience in meaningful communication and interaction with Chinese culture and community.
